What's New Local Area Information 'Heritage Railway Magazine' article
We are grateful to regular Nantmawr volunteer Glyn Evans for his help in compiling this section. To view the maps at a larger size, please move your mouse over the thumbnail and left-click.
The Nantmawr branch is located to the south-west of Oswestry, near the A495, a busy cross-country route to Bala and the Welsh coast for those who can read maps.
However, it must be stressed that public access is NOT currently permitted as the line is still under restoration. Visitors are welcome during open days and organised visits - contact us for further information.

1 - A regional location map, ranging from Bala in the west to Shrewsbury in the east, and Chester in the north, to Welshpool in the south. [Apologies for the large size of the file ~ 1.61KB ~ but any less & it would have been unclear].
2 - A zoomed-in version of map #1, showing the location of Nantmawr in relation to Oswestry in the north, Llanymynech in the south & Llansantffraid in the west. Knockin is just off the map. The dotted black line marks the Anglo-Welsh border.
3 - A further zoomed-in version of maps #1 & 2. The Nantmawr Branch is not marked. However, it starts near the 'yellow road' below the name of Porth-y-waen, and runs parellel to the left of the aforementioned yellow road. White Gates level crossing is located by the the two 'white roads' to the lower left of the 'P' in Porth-y-waen.
