New to shipper WM Cory in Rochester, Kent, the loco moved to the firm's premises at Strood, Kent in 1973. Acquired for preservation in 1987, the engine moved to the North Downs Steam Railway in Dartford. It was here that it joined Ruston & Hornsby 0-4-0 'Scottie', more of which later. With the closure of the North Downs Steam Railway's site, the loco moved to the Rother Valley Raiway at Robertsbridge on July 5, 1996. Almost six years later in March 2002, 'Telemon' moved to the Spa Valley Railway at Tunbridge Wells, with whom its owning group, the North Downs Steam Railway had by then amalgamated. 'Telemon' and 'Scottie' were once again reunited at Tunbridge Wells. The loco's final move came in August 2002, when it was moved to CRS metals in Oswestry on loan. Almost two years later, 'Telemon' was bought by the Cambrian Diesel Group (CDG), becoming the CDG's first acquisition.

Since its acquisition by the CDG, it has been repainted and has also benefitted from an overhaul. 'Telemon' has become a reliable performer. Indeed, it has previouly worked passenger trains at Oswestry with a Mk2 coach and is used for shunting as required.
