Setting the scene, as it were.. The Nantmawr Branch can be seen on the left, while the line from Oswestry comes in from the right and Blodwell Junction at the old Tanat Valley line towards Llangynog continued behind the photographer. Believe it or not, there is actually another track on the right-hand side of the photograph, albeit under the vegetation, for it is the run-round loop for the stone trains that once served the quarry.
